Fresh White Butter Sauce


This classic fresh white butter sauce is the perfect accompaniment for fish. The rich egg and butter base adds a luxurious finish to both oily fish, such as salmon, and white fish, such as haddock. This fresh butter sauce should be stored in the refrigerator until ready to use and then heated gently in a saucepan or a microwave.

Ingredients: Water; semi-skimmed milk; butter (14.7%) (milk) (colouring: beta-carotene); white wine: (white wine, preservative: E220 (sulphites)); vinegar; cream: (cream (milk), stabilizing: carrageenan); modified tapioca starch; dehydrated shallot; flavouring: (fish stock powder); salt; sunflower oil; thickener: (xanthan gum); pepper natural flavouring.
