The Best Way to Enjoy Dressed Crab
As always, here at Dockside, we’re celebrating the delights of seafood with our Fish of the Week. Dressed Crab is on the menu this time, and for good reason! Our Dressed Crab offers all the delicious benefits of mouth-wateringly prepared crabmeat, but without the hassle of dressing it yourself; it’s a win-win! But what’s the best way to enjoy dressed crab? That’s where we come in.
Bread and Butter
The most popular way to enjoy dressed crab by far is between two slices of heavily buttered brown bread or toast. It makes for an easy yet luxurious sandwich and can be improved further still with just a touch of white pepper.
Pasta
Sick of the same boring old pasta dishes? Make things more interesting by adding dressed crab instead of mince and stirring through with some mayo. Delish!
Under the Grill
Mix the dressed crab with cream and mustard and top with Parmesan cheese, and then brown under a very hot grill for a few minutes. You’ll be left with a lovely rich dish, which can be enjoyed on it’s own or with crusty bread on the side.
Salad
Combine dressed crab with lettuce, onion, rocket, cucumber and tomato and then top with a mixture of lime juice, oil and a very small amount of sugar. It’s to die for, and the citrus notes work with crab’s rich flavour perfectly.
Soup
Great as a snack or a starter before a main meal, dressed crab soup is easy to make with fish stock, double cream and a pinch of turmeric and paprika. If you’re brave you can even add in a little Tabasco to give it a good kick!
